finished sewing this top last week. started with the same pattern as my last one... this time with a pleat and a round neck. this bright (thrifted) fabric seemed perfect for fall, but there was only enough for short sleeves. that's okay, it's nice layered, too.
we took a little walk up the biggest hill in our neighborhood the other day. it's not too big, but you can sees over the treetops (and kids sled down it in the winter (sometimes crashing into treetrunks)). david took these photos of me in my new shirt. the more i wear this one the more i like it. the fabric is so soft, i think it will crinkle up wonderfully with washings.
i bought these new red cords at t.j. maxx on the way home from a successful dentist appointment (no cavities!). i'm wearing one of my favorite hats which was handmade by a girl in minneapolis.

yesterday we took advantage of a lull in the rains to go for a puddle-splashing photo-walk. i'm trying out my new thrifted coat (london fog, $5!). also, some crazy red (italian leather) vintage shoes ($2.50!).
i like david's outfit. the different textures of fabrics in nice greens and browns. his shirt and jacket were thrifted. these cords.
is what we call our little sit-on-a-blanket outings at the park. the other day david read to me from 'my life in france' (funny and inspiring) while i crocheted circles. i love these sunny days that seem to be somewhere between summer and fall. i will take another couple months of this weather, please.
