Cute Rodent Pouches
Here's a nice stack of pouches I made from my Cute Gnawing Rodents original fabric. This heavy cotton twill is wonderfully sturdy. I lined these with a cute yellow and white cotton floral and used peachy zippers for a fun color combo. Available in the shop in four handy sizes! Fill them with pencils, makeup, crafting supplies, or acorns!

Black-Brown-Blue Floral Blouse
Here's a new top I made using my favorite vintage blouse pattern (McCalls 7425 from 1964). I've used this pattern twice before (sailboats and black bows) and the only change I made this time was to add a little extra length to the back hem. It's really lovely in this flowy floral rayon (from Joann's). I'm tempted to try a popover version of this pattern using something from my vintage stash… The hardest part is deciding which fabric!

Three Grayscale Tees
A few long-sleeve tees I made for myself recently. Pretty basic, but it's nice to have some knit tops that fit well with sleeves that are long enough. I was nervous to make the placket on the black one, but it turned out pretty well, teeny bones all lined up and everything. I got a wee bit fancy on the dark grey tee by making a slightly scalloped edge on the neck rib with one of the special stitches on my machine. I used McCalls M6747 with some alterations (took out the center back seam, too). Definitely need to make more of these!

Summer Lawn Top
Here's a little top I made earlier this summer. I used McCalls 6848 which is actually a pajama pattern, but I think the only jim-jammy thing about this shirt is the slightly low-cut arm holes. I didn't make any changes to the pattern except to add the elastic/drawstring waist (with side ties) which dresses it up a little. Love this soft cotton lawn fabric (purchased here, sadly sold out now). A great top for summer days, I'll definitely be pulling out this pattern when hot weather rolls around again.

New Fabric: Summer Blooms
I'm excited to share my latest textile design, a bright and bold floral pattern featuring vintage-inspired blossoms scattered on a peach background. Pictured here is one yard printed on cotton lawn ultra. The lines are crisp and the fabric is delightfully soft and lightweight. I can't wait to sew with it! Now if I can just decide what to make… This fabric is now available in my Spoonflower shop!

Vintage Fabric Summer Top
Here's a fun top I made recently with vintage fabric and pattern D from Japanese pattern book "Simple Wardrobe". This top was a quick and easy make, basic but with some nice details... I especially like the neckline and raglan sleeves. I made only a couple of adjustments to the pattern after doing a quick test: I shortened the sleeves quite a bit and added a curved hem. I'm quite happy with the fit (I made size 9 and mine is obviously not as oversized as the striped version in the book, but that's fine with me). Oh, this delightful fabric is another treasure from my grand haul last summer.

Vintage Fabric Bibs
Bibs are such a wonderful way to show off beautiful vintage fabrics. I made this small stack for the shop and had a lot of fun choosing cute combos. I hope to make more since these are great for using up small pieces (and I have a lot to choose from!). These are all top stitched and the cute pointed flaps in the back overlap and secure with a quality metal snap. Oh and yes, those are Gritty Kitties peeking out from the bottom of the stack. Click here to grab a bib for your babe.

Summer Collection Glimpse
Instead of adding random little garments to the shop here and there, I thought I'd try focusing on a mini-collection of coordinating pieces. The combination of new and vintage fabrics I'm working with is really bright and cheerful. The polka dots and stripes give things an almost circus-y feel. Fun! I hope to release this little collection around the end of May. Stay tuned for more updates!

Vintage Velvet Patchwork Pony Pouch
I sort of wish I had yards and yards of this vintage velvet fabric featuring frisky ponies and pretty flowers. If I had a bunch I think I'd make myself a blazer, but I only had enough for a few pouches… Which are now available here!

Wrist Zip News
After being our top seller two years in a row at Renegade I decided it was time to give Wrist Zips their own shop. I also got some little woven tags to sew in the side seams. So if you are a Wrist Zip fan or if you need a comfy way to carry cash, a credit card, bus pass, id, etc. (one customer said she carries dog treats in hers!) then head over to the new shop and have a look. I'm also having a grand opening sale: Use coupon code OPENING15 to receive 15% off your Zips! (Good through March 2nd).
