flower bunch

update:  i'll be needing a little more time to get everything ready and in the shop, so the update will be moved to early next week, monday or tuesday.

i love this second-hand flowery fabric.  i had a hard time deciding whether to use it to make a top or leggings.  i think a fun tee  was the right choice.  one pocket and a little stripey neck binding (made from a thrifted shirt).  super comfy, yet flattering swingy shape.

one dress = two tops

i probably should take pictures of second-hand garments before i cut them up to make new things.  i'm always so eager to get going, i wash up the stuff and start pinning and snipping.  i'll have to work on that.  anyway, i used the skirt part of a dress to make this tank.  i love the fabric.  it has a nice flow-y drape and the cutest little green splotches.

i was about to put the rest of the dress into my scrap pile, when i realized i really liked the fit of it...  so, i changed the neckline and added the little flounce at the hem (complete with vintage lace) and re-attached the original big green button.  i think it's pretty fun!

my line of clothing made only from second hand fabrics now has a name!  the first few garments sporting these tags (printed on thrifted fabrics, of course) are comfy tops made from fun vintage knits.  they're based on the pattern i used to make this top and will be in the plastic foliage shop soon.
