I did this watercolor illustration back in April for REI's new zine: Force of Nature. I was excited to receive a stack of the publication in the mail the other day - Always a treat to see my work in print especially in the company of so many great women artists and illustrators!

Oh Comely Magazine Guest Illustrator

Back in June I was invited to be guest illustrator for issue 27 of Oh Comely Magazine. What an honor! This assignment was quite open, asking for a series of four drawings based on the theme "body". I had so much fun inventing and illustrating this strange story…  And packing as much personality as possible into each little character.

I also created a couple crazy patterns and some little spot illustrations. Oh, and there's an interview and portrait of me, too… Woah. You can purchase the issue here. Art prints are available at Society6 (huge sale this week: free shipping + $5 off each item).

Crafterella

Recently I was invited to illustrate "Crafterella", the mascot/superhero of Cut Out + Keep. Since the parameters were pretty open I decided not to draw the usual svelte superhero, but instead re-imagined this lady as a mild-mannered auntie-type.  Her favorite crafts may involve plastic canvas and acrylic yarn, but she could still save your life.

Things Lately

Working on lots of projects lately, which makes everything seem to go slow, but I don't mind. Pictured below:  A drawing in progress, a pouch for Mom, hand-sewn hexagons, making baby leggings for upcoming markets, estate sale fabric treasures.  So happy it's summer.
