My Work on ZIIBRA

I'm excited to tell you about my freshly launched shop/portfolio on ZIIBRA.  This platform is a great way to connect with and support artists and makers.  In my shop you'll find over 20 original drawings, along with art prints and subscriptions (most of which are exclusively available on ZIIBRA).

I had a lot of fun coming up with my subscription options: Pollywog Pinchers receive quarterly art postcards, Freckle Collectors get a new original fabric fat quarter every 3 months and Marshmallow Magnets receive quarterly original drawings...  I'd love it if you'd take a look!

organizing my workspace

lucky for me, a more accurate title would be "organizing my play-space".  just look at all these weird little friends...  so much inspiration!

original squiggles

i realized, walking through the studio yesterday, that i still had the original drawing from yesterday's fabrics taped to the wall.  makes me want to do more packed, doodle-y designs like this.

i like these flowers i drew yesterday.  perhaps you will see them next on fabric!

on my desk

some watercolor doodles among a growing mess of pens, pencils and animals.  if only i could get these creatures to organize themselves.

curtains

an afternoon sewing project:  curtains for the studio doors.  i don't know why i didn't make some a long time ago.  the diffused light is so lovely, and they are easy to pull back for a blast of sun when we need it.

the checkered chair is one i re-covered and the scrawny jade plant is coming back.  i hope.

i cleaned my desk

yes, indeed.  it was getting a bit out of control.  animals tangled in the foliage, jumbled with the pens and pencils.

now that everything is all straightened out, i am ready to "draw draw draw".

a gift + a mess

yesterday i attended a delightful bridal shower for my dear friend/cousin.  twas fun to assemble her gift which included a couple crocheted coasters (with loop) and a short conversation notepad (perfect for notes to her betrothed).

also, the (pretty) mess i left on my desk in the studio:

doodles, etc.

a little raccoon-type creature fell out of my pen the other day while i was doodling.  he made me laugh with his arm waving dance.

i found this slide from a talk i gave years ago.  i don't like giving talks.  but i remember trying to make this one as fun as possible.  the words with this image had something to do with a fly getting his legs stuck in a six-holed button.

been drawing more lately.  i wake up and think "i want to go draw", but i don't let myself until after everything else gets done...  so, drawing time ends up being from about 10:30pm - midnight!  maybe someday i'll let myself draw during the daytime.  :)

the last photo is of a little zine by artist allyson mellberg-taylor.  i love her work so much.  the delicacy and the weirdness.  she has an etsy shop and a blog (with her husband).
