beach dreams

somehow it seems we skipped spring and jumped directly to summer...  this warm weather has me hoping for some relaxing beach trips in the coming months.  here are a couple of diana mini film photos from last summer's sparkly, sandy shores.

sandy fun

and we're back.  such a fantastic few days.  a couple at the beach and one in chicago (where we spent the day on the most amazing (6 hour!) urban adventure (planned by betsy))...

below are more film photos from last year...  i remember driving through a short rain-burst on our way to the beach that let up just when we arrived.  the beach was so empty with a thin crust of wet sand.  perfect for dragging feet in to make circles, wiggles and other designs.  (the shot of david jumping is one of my favorites).

beach time

we are so excited to be heading to the beach tomorrow.  not our favorite beach, but still a nice bit of lake michigan shoreline.  i will be able to sort pebbles to my heart's content.

i just discovered a stack of photos from past beach trips that i hadn't posted.  here are a couple from last year shot with a roll of expired film.  more when we return!

p.s.  david's amazing painting "sacred geometry" is on the piano.  you can purchase a print of it here.

some film (diana mini) photos from a visit to hyde brothers.  i hope we can have a wall of bookshelves and a rolling ladder someday.

warm up

on a cold day like this i'd rather not go out.  instead, i'll find some time to sit by a hot radiator and flip through photos of past summer beach trips.  these are some film shots from a mid-september visit to the michigan city shoreline.  i could've sorted through wet pebbles for hours...  not sure what i was looking for, but i did bring back a couple petoskey stones and bits of crinoid stems.  (treasures).

big shot

a couple film shots of "big shot".  i think i gave him to david at some point as an "employee of the month" prize.  just now did a little research to find that he was once part of a novelty shot glass set.  (he is hollow and there's a hole in the top of his hat).  funny.
